I always find it very interesting to see how many sushi restaurants there are in Great Neck. In fact, Great Neck has as many sushi restaurants as other towns have restaurants.
When you think about it, it’s not too hard to see why. Sushi has come a long way since the 1980s when most people were afraid of it. Today, it’s a healthy meal that’s low in fat, high in omega-3 vitamins, and some of the most amazing tasting food in the world (granted, an acquired taste). Plus, the fact that most of these restaurants certify their sushi as kosher is great for Great Neck’s largely Jewish population.
Amazingly, as many sushi restaurants as there are in Great Neck, no two are alike. Some of them have incredibly fresh fish, sourced from the same places that fine Manhattan restaurants get their fish from. Others have phenomenally exquisite rolls that tickle all your senses, from your taste buds to your eyes. Still others have cheap sushi for those days when you just feel like gorging yourself.
