And…we’re back!

It’s been a while since I’ve posted a new review of a Great Neck Eat. My biggest (and cutest) excuse is that my wife and I were thrilled to be joined by a new eater–little Maddie, born in August 2015. But aside from that, life has just been super-busy with my “day job”.

But I still have a passion for trying the best restaurants in Great Neck, and so I’m back just in time for Spring 2016. Great Neck has seen a lot of changes. Lola has gone from a restaurant selling tapas to one serving Mediterranean fare. Sip City, the bar on the corner of Lakeville and Cuttermill, is no more. Ethos is gone too, as is Burton and Doyle and Turquoise. La Rotonda went away for a while and then came back. Giraffe has changed to brasserie Americana. Simply Fondue, Sake 68, Juliebelle’s, and Naru Sushi are gone.

Yes, Great Neck seems to be a tough place to run a restaurant. But that hasn’t stopped a whole lot of new restaurants from coming in. And in many ways it validates how great those restaurants who have stayed open are–everyone from Peter Luger to Chez Kama to Kensington Deli to Bareburger to Laverne.

So in the next few weeks and months I’ll be updating this blog with reviews of new restaurants in town, as well as updates to some old reviews.  If there’s a restaurant you’ve been wanting to try, feel free to leave a comment and I’ll be sure to move that to the top of my list.
